Ways to Get Involved

  • Join Crew Club

George Mason Crew Club welcomes all students of GMU to join our co-ed team - with or without experience! We hold practices M/W/F from 2pm-4pm, and Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Fill out an interest form below for more information!

  • Volunteer

We can always use extra hands when hosting our home regattas and events. Join us in making these events memorable by volunteering! We usually have many positions that need to be filled such as dock masters, referees, safety, launch drivers, marshals, stake boat holders, and more. Although many of these positions require experience, we have many more than do not so don’t hesitate to reach out to us about volunteer opportunities below. We appreciate your time and support!

  • Donate to Crew Club Coach's Endowment

Statement from Head Coach Bob Spousta

Alumni and Friends of the Crew Club,

For 38 years, the Crew Club has provided Mason students the opportunity to compete as members of a team that is well-established in the rowing community. While students are at the heart of the Club, the longevity and success of the program also rests upon the team of coaches who provide year-round support, guidance and expertise.

The Crew Club Coaches Endowment [CCCE] has been established at George Mason University to help ensure future generations of Crew Club members have access to a dedicated coaching staff who are adequately funded. Many collegiate Crew Clubs and varsity rowing teams across the country have chosen to stabilize the coaching element of their programs, and with the establishment of the CCCE, the Crew Club at Mason hopes to stabilize the coaching element of our program as well.

To date we have raised over $10,000 for the CCCE, but our goal is to raise an amount that allows our endowment to become fully funded so as to impact the Crew Club in perpetuity. I invite you to join me in making a gift to the CCCE and help us reach our goal.

Please help us spread the word of our fundraising goal to anyone who many want to be part of this effort to support future generations of the Crew Club. Your gift to the CCCE will have a lasting impact that we can all be quite proud of.

To make a tax deductible gift* via check, please make the check payable to the George Mason University Foundation and indicate “Crew Club Coaches Endowment” in the memo line.

Checks can be mailed to the following address:

    George Mason University Foundation

    4400 University Drive MS 1A3

    Fairfax, VA 22030

Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.

    Take care,

Bob Spousta / Head Coach of the GMU Crew Club [1987-present]
